1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp Kinder’s Prime Rib Rub
1/4 yellow onion diced
6-8 garlic cloves minced
Large (28oz) can of crushed tomatoes (low sodium preferred)
4 fresh basil leaves julienned or chopped
1 pinch of sugar
Step 1
Place medium sized pot over medium low heat.
Step 2
Add 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp Prime Rib and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing spices to bloom.
Step 3
Add onion and garlic and sautee until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 4
Add crushed tomatoes, pinch of sugar, and basil, mix, and allow to slow simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 5
If smoother sauce is desired, strain or mix with immersion blender.
