Kinder’s Coined & Candied Yams

Ingredients

3-4 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into coins

1 stick unsalted butter

1 Cup brown sugar

3 Tbsp Kinder’s Maple Rub, halved

1 ½ tsp fresh ground nutmeg

½ tsp salt

Instructions

Step 1

Place the sweet potatoes in a large pot and fill with water. Be sure the water covers the potatoes by at least two inches and add a pinch of salt.

Step 2

Place on stove top on high heat and bring to a boil. Let cook for 7-10 minutes or until sweet potatoes are tender when poked with a fork.

Step 3

Remove from stove, drain and set aside.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 350.

Step 5

In a medium sauce pan on medium heat, combine butter, ½ of the Kinder’s Maple Rub, brown sugar and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Spread sweet potatoes in casserole dish and pour ¾ of sauce evenly over the tops of the potatoes.

Step 7

Dust with the rest of the Kinder’s Maple Rub and place in oven for 15-20 minutes.

Step 8

Remove from oven and drizzle the rest of the sauce over the top. Serve warm and Enjoy!
