Boneless or bone-in prime rib
Olive oil or softened unsalted butter enough to coat roast
Enough Kinder’s Prime Rib Rub to coat entire roast liberally
Step 1
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Step 2
Trim off any unwanted bits of fat to personal preference.
Step 3
Coat entire roast in olive oil or softened, unsalted butter.
Step 4
Generously season roast with Kinder’s Prime Rib Rub all the way around.
Step 5
Place on roasting rack and cook at low temp for 2 hours.
Step 6
Check internal temp using meat thermometer. Once thickest part of the roast registers at 110-115 degrees, remove from oven and cover loosely with foil.
Step 7
Increase oven temp to 450 degrees and place roast back in once preheated.
Step 8
Check internal temp after approx 5 minutes and repeat until meat registers 125 degrees.
Step 9
Remove from oven and allow at least 20 minutes to rest. Residual heat will finish cooking and bring roast to a perfect medium rare 130-135 degrees internal.
