8 slices of apple-wood smoked bacon or your favorite thick-cut bacon
2 tbsp. Brown Sugar BBQ Rub
1 lb. ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
2 tbsp. Buttery Steakhouse Seasoning
1 cup Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce
4 hamburger buns
8 slices cheddar cheese or favorite cheese
1 red onion, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1 head green leaf lettuce
2 tbsp. olive oil
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 2
Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Step 3
Place a large cooling rack on foil lined baking sheet.
Step 4
Arrange bacon slices in single layer on rack.
Step 5
Coat evenly to one side of bacon with Brown Sugar Rub.
Step 6
Bake until bacon is crisp, about 20-25 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain and set aside.
Step 7
Preheat outdoor gas grill to high heat (450°F). If using a charcoal grill, arrange coals to one side of grill to create direct (high heat) and indirect (low) heating areas.
Step 8
Form beef into 4 patties, about 3/4” think and circular in shape. Using your thumb, place a small indention in center of patty.
Step 9
Coat patties evenly on both sides with Buttery Steakhouse Seasoning Rub.
Step 10
Let patties sit at room temperature until ready to grill, about 20 minutes.
Step 11
Place patties on grill in a single layer and sear until brown and crispy on bottom, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 12
Flip and cook for another 3 minutes.
Step 13
Move to indirect heat (charcoal) or turn down heat to medium heat (gas grill) and continue to cook for 1 minute.
Step 14
Place 2 slices of cheese on each patty, cover until cheese melts, about 1 minute.
Step 15
Toast buns on grill, about 1 minute.
Step 16
Remove patties and buns from grill.
Step 17
Spread Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce (or mayo mixture) on bottom bun.
Step 18
Stack lettuce, onion, tomato, and patty on bun.
Step 19
Top patty with Brown Sugar Bacon.
Step 20
Finally, pour Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce over bacon and burger, top with bun and serve.
