Ingredients
3 Slices Bacon, cut into ½ inch pieces
½ Medium Yellow Onion, Diced
2 Cans White Beans (Navy or Great Northern), 15oz each
⅓ Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tbsp Kinder’s The Blend Seasoning (or Salt and Pepper to taste)
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
Place bacon pieces into a heavy-bottom pot, then turn on medium heat.
Cook until bacon is brown and crispy, then remove bacon and set aside, leaving bacon drippings in the pot.
Add diced onion to the pot with bacon drippings and continue cooking on medium heat until onion is softened, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Add white beans with their liquid to the onions, and stir.
Add Kinder’s BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Kinder’s The Blend, and crispy bacon pieces to the pot. Stir until well combined.
Continue to heat on the stove until the mixture starts to simmer.
Once the mixture is simmering, cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and place into the pre-heated oven.
Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the lid (or foil) and bake an additional 45 to 60 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
